Woodplay Authorized Dealers can provide you with professional delivery and
installation but if you live in an area without a local dealer, don't worry.
Woodplay playsets are pre-drilled and come with detailed instructions so you
can install the playset yourself with minimal tools. Whether you are installing
your own playset or choose dealer installation look below for a few tips to
prepare for installation day.
Installation Tips
- Playsets should be installed on as level a ground as possible. As a rule-of-thumb, if your lawn slopes more than 12 inches over a distance of 10 feet, you need to have the area leveled prior to installation.
- Ideally, playsets should be placed a minimum of 6 feet from structures such as fences, walls, landscaping, trees, etc. Allow approximately 7-8 feet in each direction for the swing arc. Allow for 11 feet of clearance for a Sky High headbeam. Be aware of where you may have landscaping sprinkler heads to avoid tripping hazards.
- Place your Woodplay playset in an area easily viewed from the house. For children's comfort select a shaded area to help keep children cooler in hot weather. Insure that there are no overhanging branches that may present a climbing temptation.
- Prior to your installation walk around your site and check for any large rocks, tree stumps, large roots or any debris that is in the area.
- If you have a professional installer, someone should be present during the installation and to inspect the installation upon completion.
- If mulching or boxing out the area, we suggest doing so after the playset is installed. Mulching options include triple shredded wood mulch that is insect or decay resistant (such as cypress or cedar) or rubber mulch. Most dealers have surfacing material for sale or can refer you to a local source.
